Is het nu met Myrddin De Cauter, Dijf Sanders, Lander Gyselinck of bands als Black Flower of Gipsy Ska Orchestra, de klank van Nathan Daems kan broos zijn als kinderadem, flexibel als riet of intens als onversneden passie. Telkens slaagt hij erin om het DNA van de verre klank of partituur naar het heden te hertalen en nieuw leven in te blazen. Soms beestig heftig, dan weer erudiet delicaat. De generositeit van zijn persoonlijkheid en die van zijn kompanen werkt radicaal aanstekelijk op een aanwezig publiek. Met echo’s ut de Balkan, het midden oosten maar evenzeer uit de nerveuze stedelijke context. Hij woont om de hoek: als het ware onze dorpsfanfare dus, die een ode is aan de hybriditeit van Molenbeek. Naamgenoten die elkaar vinden in hun muzikale DNA, waarvan de tenen krullen op gelijkaardige manier en de ledematen het ritme slaan dat hun voorouders lang geleden voor hen in de sterren hebben geschreven. [**Cyril Cyril**](https://cyrilcyril.bandcamp.com/) produceert klanken die doen verlangen naar een nomadisch bestaan in onbekende gebergten. Gewapend met een banjo, gitaar, drumkit en profetische woorden nemen ze ons mee, als een feniks op de dansvloer! ‘Global Hybrid’ of ‘ghetto streetsound’ of ‘de stem van de straat’ : **Sebcat** is met zijn **[Rebel Up](https://www.mixcloud.com/Rebel_Uppa/stream/)** collectief en annex platenlabel op korte tijd een icoon geworden in Brussel en ver daarbuiten. Immer goedgeluimd, immer op het scherp van de snee, muzikaal steeds twee lichtjaren voor op de rest.
