Professeur d’urbanisme à Milan, il travaille et publie sur des sujets liés aux villes et à l’architecture. Il vient nous parler ici de son dernier projet ["Learning from Gulf Cities"](https://www.nyuad-artgallery.org/en_US/arts-center-project-space/gulf-cities/), qui est le fruit de sa collaboration avec le photographe italien **Michele Nastasi** et le sociologue américain **Harvey Molotch** notamment. Ils s’intéressent ici à l’urbanisation de cette région du monde, ses contrastes et incomplétudes, mais aussi ce qu’elle génère de nouvelles pensées et de formes, au-delà des seules imitations flamboyantes, qui cachent souvent d’autres réalités plus nuancées. Leur projet, initalement une exposition, (New-York 2016, Abu Dhabi 2017,..), arrive à Recyclart en format “conférence, avant la sortie d'un livre en 2019 : "The New Arab Urban : Gulf Cities of Wealth, Ambition, and Distress", par [Harvey Molotch](https://nyupress.org/author/2519) and [Davide Ponzini](https://nyupress.org/author/7758).
